About World Child Cancer
World Child Cancer is an international children’s charity, founded in 2007. It supports programmes across Africa, Asia and Central America. Its funding helps with diagnosis, treatment, transport to hospital and family accommodation. You can learn more on the World Child Cancer website.
Why we do this
A child’s chance of surviving cancer should not depend on where they are born, but today it does. Survival is much lower in poorer countries, where treatment is often hard to reach. We love writing about islands and the people who live there, and we want to give something back by helping children get the care they need.
